Today, environmental protection and rational use of resources are the key activities of the holding and its subsidiaries and affiliates organizations
Successes of JSC "Samruk-Energo" in the field of environmental impact reduction environment and development of "clean technologies" are appreciated by the award Grand Prix of the Presidential Award "Paryz" in 2015. High recognition reflects the success of the holding in improving corporate governance, security labor, large-scale support of domestic producers and sustainable development in the electric power industry.
Today Samruk-Energo, as the largest diversified holding, representing the interests of the state in the electric power industry, plays an important role in the country's plans for the transition to a "green" economy
Today, environmental protection and rational use of resources are the key activities of the holding and its subsidiaries and affiliates organizations. The priority directions and goals of Samruk-Energo JSC in the environmental sphere are reflected in the long-term Development Strategy and Environmental policy. The company intends to consistently reduce environmental impact, including through an increase in the share of alternative energy sources. At the same time, the ongoing work on increasing the share of renewable energy sources will reduce the consumption of fuel and energy resources and will reduce the level of environmental impact. In 2015 according to the Samruk-Energo group of companies, the share of environmentally friendly electricity reached 11.2% of the total production of 22.3 billion kWh.
One of the examples of successful implementation of renewable energy projects is Yerementau a wind farm with a capacity of 45 MW. The ceremonial launch took place in December 2015 during the nationwide teleconference dedicated to the day of industrialization. The wind farm will save up to 110 thousand tons of coal annually. In the future, capacities in Yerementau will be increased to 300 MW.
Modernization of the Shardara HPP continues. A complete replacement of the technical filling will increase the power of the station by 26% and extend its life for several decades. Over 50 years of operation, the total volume of production The electric power of the Shardara HPP exceeded 21.5 billion. kWh.
In order to reduce equipment wear and improve technical condition operating power plants, in 2009 a program of marginal tariffs was adopted. During the period of the "tariff in exchange for investment" principle, about 479 billion tenge was invested in the Samruk-Energy group. For 6 years By more than two-thirds (64%) or 1,584 MW, the gap between installed and available capacity has been reduced (from 2,462 to 878 MW).
With the support of the Government and the Shareholder, the investment program is being successfully implemented program. In the period 2012-2015, JSC "Samruk-Energo" implemented 10 major projects totaling 255.5 billion tenge, including 4 projects under the SPIID and 7 projects of the Industrialization Map, among them the most large:
- construction of the high-pressure Moynak HPP with a capacity of 300 MW, with energy efficiency several times higher than traditional HPPs;
- restoration of power units No. 8 and No. 2 at Ekibastuz GRES-1 general with a capacity of 1000 MW.
- modernization of the Almaty power complex and construction of substations total transformer capacity of 1,952 MVA;
- reconstruction of boiler room and ash and slag removal system in Almaty CHP-2.
The quality of operation of coal-fired power plants, which occupy a significant share in the total volume of electricity and heat production, sets a priority task for the group of companies of JSC "Samruk-Energo" to protect the environment. In order to minimize the harmful effects, a large amount of environmental measures has been carried out. Thus, the implementation of a comprehensive program environmental protection measures ensured the reduction of ash emissions at thermal stations several times. At all power units of Ekibastuz GRES-1 and GRES-2, providing a quarter of the capacity of the UES of Kazakhstan, new ones were installed electrofilters, which increased the ash recovery coefficient from 88 to 99.6%. In general, for the group of companies, ash emissions have decreased by almost 3 times over 6 years times – from 108 to 30 thousand tons.
The main activities for energy-producing organizations include reconstruction of ash collection systems at power units (installation electrofilters of a new generation), installation of low-emission turbulent burners on boiler units, construction of new and reconstruction of existing ones wastewater treatment facilities, land reclamation, landscaping territories, etc. In 2014-2015, 10.77 billion rubles were spent for these purposes tenge. In 2016, the expenses of subsidiaries and affiliated organizations for environmental protection measures amounted to more than 3 billion tenge.
Additional production of environmentally friendly kilowatts at Kapshagayskaya HPP and Cascade HPP in 2016 allowed saving 2.5 % on thermal power plants thousands of wagons or 165 thousand tons of Ekibastuz coal and contribute to the improvement of the ecological situation in Almaty. Comprehensive program modernization of equipment and environmental protection measures of JSC "Almaty electric power stations" significantly reduced the impact on the air pool cities. Due to the implementation of investment commitments for the gasification of Almaty CHP-1, emissions into the atmosphere have decreased by 50% over the past 5 years. In September 2016, JSC "AlES" commissioned a new boiler No. 8 on CHP-2. The implementation of the project increased the available capacity of the station in winter the period from 410 to 470 MW; and the installed thermal capacity by 10% from 1176 to 1411 Gcal/h, which will fully meet the needs of the growing metropolis – the objects of the Universiade-2017, the industrial zone and new residential neighborhoods.
In 2016, a new turbine unit was launched at Aktobe CHP. The implementation of the turbine replacement project increased the installed capacity from 88 to 118 MW. and It will provide additional electricity generation in the amount of 240 million kWh per year.
In December 2016, the project "Modernization of the ORU-500 kV Ekibastuz GRES-1" worth 18 billion tenge was completed, which will ensure the reliability of the supply and transmission of electricity to Kazakhstani and foreign consumers from the most powerful station in Kazakhstan.
Prospects for the creation of a single energy market within the EAEU will open new opportunities for the company in terms of development and expansion of exports electricity and coal. At the same time, increased market competition it will require the mobilization of reserves. As operational measures were marketing functions have been centralized, the competence center for sales and trading functions "Trading House" of JSC "Samruk-Energo" has been created.
Trends in the economy emphasize the timeliness of the start of the program Transformation initiated by the shareholder. Transformations will increase the efficiency of investment and operational activities will ensure improving the competitiveness of JSC "Samruk-Energo.
