The strategic partner of Samruk-Energo JSC is the China International Corporation for Water Management and Energy

Samruk-Energo is considering the possibility of implementing projects in the field of renewable energy sources (RES) together with companies from China, reports Today.kz with reference to the company's press service.

"The strategic partner of Samruk-Energo JSC is the China International Corporation of Water Management and Energy. To implement the agreements reached in 2014-2015, memoranda and agreements on promising investment projects were concluded," the message reads.

As specified in the information, among the projects are the transfer of the flow of the Kens River to the Bestyubinsk reservoir of the Moynak HPP, the construction of a counter-regulating Kerbulak HPP on the Ili River, the construction of a wind farm in the Shelek corridor with a capacity of 60 megawatts and small HPPs in the Almaty region.

The matrix indicates that through the use of the latest innovative technologies, these projects will reduce the burden on the environment and will contribute to an increase in the production of environmentally friendly electricity.

"Given the increased efficiency of using the hydro and wind potential of the region, these projects are actively supported by local executive bodies. The planned facilities for the development of alternative energy were included in the list of projects under the program of Kazakh-Chinese cooperation in the field of industrialization and investment," the information says.

The release notes that earlier the implementation of projects was suspended due to the fact that the existing level of fixed tariffs is insufficient for the payback of energy projects. To resume work, investors need indexation of tariffs for renewable energy. To this end, Samruk-Energo JSC is working with authorized regulatory state bodies.
